16th Avenue/3rd Street SE Roadway Project
- Work continues on 3rd Street SE from the 16th Avenue intersection to the Sinclair Basin area.
- The service line to Tornadoes Grub and Pub has been transferred to the new main, which has been pressure tested and disinfected.
- The old pavement and sidewalk has been removed and the roadbed excavated to accommodate the proposed crushed rock base and new concrete pavement.
- Storm sewer pipe and intake installation began on May 13, connecting to a recently installed storm sewer trunk line near Sinclair basin. It will extend to the intersection with 16th Avenue.

Storm sewer work is expected to take an additional 2 to 3 weeks, depending on weather conditions.

Planned Improvements
16th Avenue Bridge of Lions Maintenance Project
Improvements will focus on deck repairs, joint replacements, and drainage and sidewalk modifications.
16th Avenue SE & 3rd Street Improvements
Improvements will transform the public right-of-way, with new sidewalks (including working with business to provide ADA accessible entrances where possible), storm sewer replacement in coordination with the Flood Control System, upgraded sanitary sewer, new driveways, undergrounding of utility cables, and new street lights. A separate, decorative streetscaping project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2025.
